DIY Adorable Plant Stands Using A Few Affordable Dollar Tree Finds

Plants are a gorgeous way to brighten up a space and bring tranquility to a room. According to some studies, indoor plants can even improve air quality and elevate your overall well-being. There are different ways to decorate with indoor plants, such as hanging them using macrame, propping them on a large windowsill or bay window, or showing off your plant collection on a three-tiered plant ladder. What’s more, displaying your beautiful greenery can be a creative and inexpensive pursuit, too. Whether you have an eye for DIY projects or want to save money on planters, you can create affordable plant stands using a few Dollar Tree products, including Cooking Concept Bamboo Skewers, Crafter’s Square Wood Beads, and Clear Mini Plastic Bowls, which retail for $1.25 each.

For this project, you’ll also need hot or wood glue. Once you’re done with this DIY, you can use these plant stands to elevate bare countertops, lighten up entryways, and add appeal sitting on large windowsills.

How to build a DIY Dollar Tree plant stand

The DIY Dollar Tree plant stand is pretty simple to assemble. You’ll need to glue the three bamboo skewers onto three wood beads laid out in a triangle, then attach three more skewers upwards so that they met in the middle to create a tripod stand. To support the plastic bowl at the bottom of the stand, glue two additional skewers across the bottom skewers, then finally spray paint the stand whatever color that matches your decor. Gold spray paint can add a pop of color and complement a glam interior, while omitting spray paint on the skewers, exposing the wood, can add a classic natural bohemian feel.

While you can use artificial plants to adorn their plant stand, you can display mini succulent plants, which tend to be low-maintenance, or other succulents you can grow indoors. Live succulents can be a good option for those who struggle with plant care. If you don’t have sufficient sunlight or want to add greenery to a space without windows, using artificial plants can be displayed without worrying if they’ll wilt or die. It’s worth noting that the skewers aren’t particularly strong and are prone to bend slightly or break if there’s too much weight on them. That being said, avoid plants that are too heavy, wide, or grow too tall for the stand.
