MEET MY DOGS | 5 GREAT DANES!

MEET MY DOGS | 5 GREAT DANES!

I was adopted by my grandparents, and when I was a kid they adopted four Danes.  Lovely animals, amazing souls.  Somehow they decided that my room was the place to sleep.  They certainly picked up that I had horrible nightmares and that sleep was difficult for me, Within the first week I must have felt safe with the dogs as I no longer woke up screaming. Three of the dogs slept on the bed and one slept by the door, and my grandmother said that at night while I as sleeping they would rotate so that all of them got bed time.  They knew when I was distressed before I did and suddenly I'd have a 250 pound dog licking my face, or sitting in my lap.  If I had a particularly bad night a few of them would smother me until I calmed down.

My sense is that animals are sentient.  No idea what humans ever did to deserve animals.  We don't deserve them.  However, I'm glad that whatever force in the Universe exists sees fit that we get to spend time with these beings.   I am so glad you posted.  I miss my dogs and I miss how they found a way to wrap themselves around my heart.  Thanks for the memories
