This video saved my dog’s life last night. Scariest thing I’ve ever gone through. I had already done some of what this version said to do because I had seen a photo of it before. But I didn’t know you could do the Heimlich on a dog like this. After the 3rd pump she finally coughed (or kinda puked) it up. Thank you for this video!!!!! EDIT I just read some of the comments and if an ad would have came on before this I would have freaked the hell out!!!!!

I saw this video years ago when it popped up in my feed.  Tonight, I'm very grateful that I watched it.  My almost 14 yr old dog was trying to enjoy a treat and Ii was trying to keep our other dog from rushing him.  He rushed anyway and ended up choking.  I'm very glad I was paying attention.   I couldn't sweep it out and the gravity trick was impossible as he was on the edge of the bed and I can't fully lift him.  But I knew the Heimlich could work and was able to clear his airway with a few thrusts, even though he was frightened enough that he was resisting my help.   I knew he was going to be okay when he started searching for the treat I'd just dislodged.  It's brought an end to giving him treats that require a lot of chewing and are bigger than a mouthful.  Even if I restrain our other dog, he tries to eat it too quickly, I'm sure because he doesn't want the other dog to steal it.   I'm very relieved I'm still able to cuddle him tonight.

My dog had gotten into something and started chocking and white stuff started coming out of his mouth. He was gagging a lot and trying to cough it up. I laid him on his side and made sure his head was facing to the side and starting pushing on his stomach to see if that would help him get it out. After a couple minutes I could hear it coming up but he was getting weaker and wasn't able to get it out with his own muscles so I opened his mouth and was able see what it was way down there. Luckily I was able to get to it and pulled it out. As soon as I did he jumped up and was panting trying to catch his breath. After I got him to calm down he then attacked me with kisses and snuggled me for a long time. 😊 I'm so happy I was there
